It has been awhile and so much is going on....

I have been back at work for a month now, it is crazy ti be starting over after 5 years at the same job (and is it crazy to say that is the longest I have ever worked anywhere?). We are settled in to life in our new town and community - we keep busy with all the different activities both locally and in Portland. It has gotten to a point where Mike and I think we might be those parents who over schedule. We have vowed to slow things down a bit. Mike is liking his job and a promotion is hopefully in the works in the not too distant future. He is on 2 city council commissions - Storm water and transportation. This area is much better for him and his love of politics. My job has it's ups and downs. I am still figuring things out - it is a much smaller district which can be good and bad. It is a little slower than I am used to and the school it self is about 1/2 the size of my last position. But my assistants are amazing and the teachers there are really nice. So we will see how the year turns out. I still dream of owning my own shop. The kids are growing like weeds. They go to preschool at the local high school, so they are doing lots of fun things and are surprising us all the time with things they are learning. Miles is still obsessed with any car, truck, train or dinosaur. Ella loves little people and weeble wobbles - which is very fitting for her. She is walking all over and giving Miles a run for his money. They are doing swimming lessons now and Miles starts soccer in a few days (see - this is what I mean by over scheduling). We are planning a long drive to my parent's for Thanksgiving which we are all excited for and then Christmas is Tahoe with the family, including cousins and aunts/uncles. I can't wait - this is the longest it has been since I have been up there. We are also going to stay a weekend on the coast with Uncles Tim and Neil and I CAN'T wait to see them. Here are some pictures of our life lately......
