We spent the better part of our holidays in Tahoe with the family. It was a great time, although the drive there and back was long. We got stuck in Ashland on the way down and the next day spent 4 hours on 50, in the snow, on the highway waiting to get moving. The way home was whiteout conditions, but we had a great time. Miles tried skiing for the first time, and he loved it - "I do it myself" was his saying for the day. We also took everyone sledding, Ella liked it, but by the last run, she had had enough. It was wonderful seeing Kate, Craig, Sharon, Dave, My parents and all the brothers/sister in laws and cousins. There were 16 people and 7 dogs at our house - we were at our maximum occupancy. Now it is the day before vacation is over and there is definitely a sense of melancholy at our house. We are really excited for the new year and all it will bring (hopefully not another move).
