a vacation, finally....

we finally took a vacation, one of those things where you go somewhere and don't have to do anything....yeah, we finally got to have one. we spent a good 5 days at our house in tahoe, which just makes me feel giddy. i love that place and am so excited that i can share that excitement with my kids. we went there for christmas, but after a 20+ hour drive and then a house full of family and dogs, it wasn't as relaxing as a vacation can be. it was awesome, but we needed time off.

so, the four of us spent some time at the lake, hiking, lounging, and just hanging out for several days - by ourselves (my parents were going to come, but my dad's knee surgery was a little more complicated than expected, so unfortunately what was going to be a full family vacation just turned out to be the four of us). oh, and mike and i celebrated our 5th year anniversary - i really love that guy.

this week we head to new jersey/new york/pennsylvania for a whirlwind trip to visit family and have some real new york pizza.
